A tour of the Enjoy window
Enjoy shows one project at a time. The row at the top of the window is for moving between projects and reaching your account. The rail down the left side of the window is for moving around inside the current project.
The top row
- Project tabs: your pinned projects, each with its name and an icon in the project’s color that shows the first letter of the name or an image. The project you’re in also has a tab, even if it isn’t pinned, a little lighter than the bar. The pin button at the end of its tab pins or unpins the project. See Pin projects as tabs.
- Apps you pin to the tab bar, as rounded tabs after the project tabs. See Open, pin, and stop an app.
- Apps opens Your apps, the apps of all your projects as keys, with a search box and New app. A number on it counts the apps running now. See What are apps?
- Projects opens Your projects, a menu of your projects with a search box and buttons to start or open a project. See Switch between projects.
- Feedback opens a short form for sending feedback to the Enjoy team. To remove the button, choose Hide from toolbar in that form. Feedback stays available under Community in your account. See Send feedback or a testimonial.
- Appearance, the sun or moon button, chooses a System, Light, or Dark theme, and how compact conversations and messages look. See Change Enjoy’s look.
- The circle with your initial, near the right end, opens Your account, with your plan, My computers, Password & sign-in, App settings, Community, and Sign out.
On the left, the Enjoy mark appears. If you can reach more than one computer, a computer switcher appears there instead. On a Mac, Enjoy’s menus are in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and on Linux they’re in a menu bar at the top of the window. On Windows, select Application menu, the button with three lines at the top left, to open them, and use the buttons at the top right to minimize, maximize, or close the window.
The rail on the left
A slim rail runs down the left side of the window, below the top row. Its buttons show only icons. Point to one to see its name. From top to bottom:
- Conversations, Files, Workflows, and Apps, which switch between the four main sections of the project. On Conversations, a number counts conversations that need you, and small colored bars show while agents are working.
- Apps you pin, as small keys, with a green dot while they run. See Open, pin, and stop an app.
- Files and documents you pin, as small square tiles with the first letter of their name. Point to a tile to see its full name, and select it to open the item. See Pin files and documents.
- An amber warning icon with a number, when some of the project’s files can’t be opened. See Fix a file that won’t save or load.
- In a shared project, the face of someone else in the project, with a number such as +2 for the others. See Working on someone else’s computer.
- Processes, near the bottom, which lists the programs your agents started that keep running, such as a website’s server, and shows their output. A number on it shows how many are listed. See What’s in the Processes list.
- Project settings, the button with sliders at the very bottom, which opens the current project’s name, color, instructions, and other settings. See Change a project’s name and settings.
In a narrow window, such as the web app on a phone, the list and what you open from it take turns filling the window, and the sidebar steps aside. Select Show sidebar at the top left to bring it over the page; choosing something in it, pressing Esc, or clicking outside it puts it away.
The sections
- Conversations. The list beside the rail shows the project’s conversations, with + to start a new one and a search box. Show completed, at the bottom of the list, is on at first. Clear it to hide completed conversations. The selected conversation fills the middle, with the message box at the bottom. Select Show agent activity, the last button at the top right of the conversation, to open a panel with the agent’s step-by-step activity. See Start a conversation and Follow what your agent is doing.
- Files. Your documents and your project’s files, under Your documents and Project files. See Find your way around Files.
- Workflows. Saved instructions you can run again or on a schedule. See What are workflows?
- Apps. Small tools agents build into the project, each a row with Open, and New app to make another. See What are apps?
Signs to look for
- Small colored bars with a number, on another project’s tab or on Projects, mean that many agents are working. On Conversations in the rail, the bars show without a number.
- A message icon with a number counts unread conversations on another project’s tab or on Projects. The number on Conversations counts conversations that are unread or waiting for you.
- Needs input in a conversation means the agent is waiting for your answer or approval.
- A cup icon next to Stop, at the top of a working conversation, means the computer app is keeping your computer awake while agents run. See Keep your computer awake.
- Resume agent work at the top of a project means agent work in that project is paused. Select it to let agents continue.
- Error messages appear in a banner near the top. Select its close button to dismiss it.

In the web app
The web app at app.enjoy.dev has the same layout for the projects on your computer, with your computer’s name, or a switcher if you have more than one, at the top left. A few things only appear in the computer app, such as the buttons to start or open projects in the Projects menu, removing projects, and the cup icon. See Use Enjoy in a web browser.
